Meet Your September Resident of the Month!

Mr. Roundtree, lovingly known here at Brookside as “Big Bad Billy,” was born and raised in Philadelphia. Throughout his junior high school years, he was Captain of the Safety Patrol.  He then went on to attend West Philadelphia High.  During these years, he had his son and daughter with his wife, Patricia, in which he had to take a step away from school to take care of his family.  He later received his GED.

Mr. Roundtree stated work was “hard to find.” He worked with his grandfather at a fertilizer plant for 50 cents an hour. He then was hired as an apprentice at an upholstery shop, fixing furniture from when he was 17-23 years old.  After that, he worked as a machine operator for automobile parts.

Mr. Roundtree expresses his family was the importance in his life.  He has three children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He describes himself as a “peaceful man who loves sports and takes no crap.”
